ISHS - International Society for Horticultural Science

Horticultural considers all products, raw or industry- processed, that arise from the horticultural industry, thus including fruits, vegetables, vines, aromatics and medical plants, flowers and outdoor and indoor ornamentals.

The International Society of Horticultural Science (ISHS) aims to promote and encourage research and education in all branches of horticultural science and to facilitate cooperation and knowledge transfer on a global scale through its symposia and congresses, publications and scientific structure.

ISHS is acting as a globally recognized and sought-after platform for research, science-based information exchange and collaboration in support of sustainable innovation in horticulture, encourages the development of international co-operation, bringing together scientific and technical professionals to stimulate, facilitate and co-ordinate research and scientific activities on a global scale.

More than 100 specialized working groups operate to cover the full range of horticultural science, and more than 40 specialized symposia are held every year, which results are published as a volume of Acta Horticulturae (www.actahort.org). In addition, ISHs publishes in collaboration with the German Society of Horticultural Science (DGG),

The European Journal of Horticultural Science (eJHS), which focuses is on applied and fundamental aspects of the entire food value chain, ranging from breeding, production, processing, trading to retailing of horticultural crops and commodities in temperate and Mediterranean regions.

Fruits, The International Journal of Tropical and Subtropical Horticulture is another leading scientific journal, collaboration with CIRAD (France), publishes original articles and reviews on tropical and subtropical horticultural crops.
