IUCr - International Union of Crystallography

IUCr is an International Scientific Union, and it is a member of the International Science Council (ISC). Its goals are to promote international cooperation in crystallography, to contribute to all aspects of crystallography, to encourage international publication of crystallographic research results, to facilitate the standardization of its methods, units, terminology and symbols.

It represents a benchmark for relations between crystallography and other sciences. IUCr pursues these objectives by publishing in print and electronically:

  • a set of scientific journals entitled “The Online Crystallography Journal”;
  • the series of reference volumes “International Tables for Crystallography”;
  • “Quarterly IUCr Newsletter”, distributed to crystallographers.

In addition, it supports the “Online World Directory/Database of Crystallographers”, it assigns the “Ewald Prize” and organizes its Congress and General Assembly every three years.
