International scientific organization

IGA - International Geothermal Association

IGA, founded in 1988, is a scientific, educational and cultural organization designed to operate on a global scale. It has more than 2000 members of 65 nations. IGA is a non-political, non-profit, non-governmental organization that has a status of special advisor to the United Nations Economic and Social Council and is a European Union partner in the Campaign for Take Off (CTO) of Renewable Energies. Its goals are: to encourage research, development and use of geothermal resources worldwide by compiling, publishing and disseminating information and scientific and technical data both within the community of geothermal specialists and between these experts and public opinion.
