The biological filtration by macroinvertebrates\ncontributes to water purification as a result of the bacterioplankton removal from the water. The filterfeeder\npolychaete Sabella spallanzanii is known for its ability to accumulate bacteria from the marine\nenvironment. In the present study we evaluated the survival, growth and capability of this species to\nremove several bacterial groups from aquaculture waste in order to ascertain its employment as\nbioremediator in a farming scenario coupled with the conversion of the wastes into polychaete proteinrich\nbiomass of potentially marketable value. In comparison to other technologies, the employment of\nS. spallanzanii in waste treatment represents a more attractive option to reduce bacterial loads."@en ; prodottidellaricerca:prodottoDi modulo:ID1919 , istituto:CDS002 , modulo:ID8083 ; pubblicazioni:autoreCNR unitaDiPersonaleInterno:MATRICOLA5931 . @prefix parolechiave: . prodotto:ID6905 parolechiave:insiemeDiParoleChiave . ns11:ID122275 pubblicazioni:rivistaDi prodotto:ID6905 . parolechiave:insiemeDiParoleChiaveDi prodotto:ID6905 .
