These\nsystems are chosen since accurate experimental data are available,\nallowing for a direct comparison of experimental observations with\nour theoretical estimates. Our model for describing the solvent\neffects is based on a dielectric continuum approach for the\nsolvent, and uses a molecule-shaped cavity. Our results show\nqualitatively different Buckingham constants and effective\nquadrupole centers calculated with and without the solvent, and\nonly when the solvent is included are the qualitative trends\nobserved experimentally reproduced.\nIt is demonstrated that a significant part of this effect\narises from the geometry relaxation of the molecules in the\nsolvent." ; prodottidellaricerca:prodottoDi istituto:CDS063 , modulo:ID5983 ; pubblicazioni:autoreCNR unitaDiPersonaleInterno:MATRICOLA18224 .
