Usually the \now of containers in a transshipment terminal\nfollows the quay-yard-quay cycle. Actually the ingoing containers are unloaded\nfrom the containerships and transferred to dedicated yard blocks, where\nthey are stacked. Outgoing containers \now in the opposite direction. However\nsometimes further container movements are needed, either to speed up the\nunloading/loading operations, or to reorganize the stacking spaces during the\ntime-of-staying of the containers in the yard. The ingoing containers, for example,\ncan be rst placed into yard buffers in front of the berths where the\ncontainerships are moored and then transferred to the dedicated yard blocks.\nSimilarly groups of containers already stacked in the yard could be moved to\ndifferent blocks, so as to minimize the fragmentation of the available stacking\nspaces. In this talk we are concerned with the planning of the housekeeping\noperations occurring before the loading phase. Starting from the stowage plan\nof a containership, our aim is to decide which containers, among the outgoing\nones, must be moved to the buffer areas, so as to minimize the runtime costs, in\nterms of the total distances traveled by the terminal vehicles during the loading\nphase. We propose a 0-1 Linear Program, a Lagrangean decomposition scheme,\nand a dual ascent procedure for the optimization of the Lagrangean Dual."@en ; prodottidellaricerca:prodottoDi modulo:ID2272 , istituto:CDS018 ; pubblicazioni:autoreCNR unitaDiPersonaleInterno:MATRICOLA11466 .
