To reach a better\ncoupling and improve execution times of applications,\na consolidated though challenging opportunity is the\nbenchmarking of resources. In this direction, we\npropose to exploit two complementary approaches, the\nmicro and application-driven benchmarks, which allow\nto grasp the behavior of computational contexts with\nrespect to more realistic workloads and to lead to a\nmore efficient assignment of the submitted jobs to\nresources. To evaluate the appropriateness of our\nmethodology an experimentation on a testbed was\ncarried-out. A first comparison of benchmarking\nresults highlighted differences in performance amongst\nthe two levels of benchmarks. Moreover the\nappropriateness of adopting benchmarking\ninformation to rank resources was also confirmed by\nexamining different allocation strategies through a\nqueuing network simulator."@en . @prefix ns11: . prodotto:ID190872 pubblicazioni:editore ns11:ID12125 ; prodottidellaricerca:prodottoDi istituto:CDS050 , modulo:ID4145 ; pubblicazioni:autoreCNR unitaDiPersonaleInterno:MATRICOLA9691 , unitaDiPersonaleInterno:MATRICOLA29135 , unitaDiPersonaleInterno:MATRICOLA5248 , unitaDiPersonaleInterno:MATRICOLA14311 . ns11:ID12125 pubblicazioni:editoreDi prodotto:ID190872 .
