These applications require models different for structure (numerical or physical), complexity, functions and costs. An alternative solution is the use of hybrid modelling as it permits to merge easily numerical and physical models building the model according to the specific needs. The primary aim of this work is the development of a hybrid model of the circulation based on a detailed numerical model merged with physical models of specific circulatory districts. The basic lumped parameters numerical model includes: \u00B7 ventricles (variable elastance models), \u00B7 circulatory districts: arms, head, kidneys, splanchnic circulation, legs, pulmonary circulation, coronary circulation. The model is developed in LabVIEW\u0099 and can be easily transformed into a hybrid model. In this work the basic numerical model is transformed into a hybrid one replacing pulmonary circulation with a physical model. Physical section is represented, using the electro-hydraulic analogy, by an electrical circuit. An interface permits data exchange between numerical and physical sections. The experiments were aimed at verifying the model reaction to circulatory parameters changes in both numerical and physical parts. Numerical and physical parts of the model exchanged data correctly and each of them was able to react to stimuli coming from the other part.
