Sintesi: The MED-SUV project aims to gather information from several heterogeneous sources, making it available through its supersite infrastructure and to overarching systems like GEOSS. Therefore MED-SUV needs to design and implement an advanced interoperability architecture interconnecting different local systems providing information to the supersite. A preliminary survey on MED-SUV data products provides a snapshot of the starting point. It allows to identify the specifications adopted by local systems for interfaces, metadata and data models providing a fundamental information for gap analysis and interoperability design. The main requirements for the interoperability systems were identified in the harmonized discovery of and access to data products. To this aim, MED-SUV proposes an advanced interoperability architecture implementing a system of systems based on a brokered architecture. Indeed brokered architectures allow to integrate heterogeneous systems minimizing the impact and lowering entry barriers for both data users and data providers. A roadmap towards the implementation is proposed and the first interoperability tests were conducted for the available local systems highlighting minor interoperability issues.
