Abstract: Nowadays, the healthcare systems are strongly promoting the prevention and early detection of diseases, and the real-time monitoring of patients to provide personalized therapies in order to reduce costs and improve patient's quality of life. Point-of-Care (POC) technologies and home monitoring are becoming familiar terms, but they require new sensing approaches to provide fast and reliable results. We present non-invasive or minimally invasive sensors, protocols and instrumentation that can be used for monitoring and analysing biological fluids such as breath, saliva, sweat and exudate. Our work will show some possible applications for therapeutic monitoring, biomarkers detection, drugs detection and delivery, and patients' screening.
