Research fields: - The research fields of the Institute are: Functional genomics. Systems of signal transduction; molecular aspects of the construction logic and the functioning of complex organisms. The world of RNA. Molecular aspects of the relationship between parasite and host in tropical diseases. Construction of mouse mutant strains and phenocopies. The INFRAFRONTIER Infrastructures, EMMA and Mouse Clinic, coordinate the large-scale production, primary phenotyping, cryo-preservation and distribution of mutant strains that model human diseases with implementation of specific databases (www.emmanet.org), in collaboration with leading international research Institutions and Consortia (IMPC,IKMC,IMSR-FIMRe) and the support by EU Framework Programmes and the ESFRI Roadmap. Scientific co-operation and technological-logistic coordination of the activites of international Institutions at the Campus "A. Buzzati - Traverso", Monterotondo (EMBL-Mouse Biology Programme, ICGEB Research Unit, MRC Science and Innovation-CNR Cooperation, The Jackson Laboratory, Harvard Med. School, Univ. of California at Davis, Manitoba Inst. of Cell Biology-Univ. of Manitoba, Natl. Inst. of Aging-NIH).
